SUSTAINABILITY
Every Mawei piece is designed in Norway and crafted in China with great care and expertise. Working closely with trusted suppliers and production partners, Mawei combines its knowledge, experience and cultural understanding with modern technology to ensure quality and craftsmanship.
For us, sustainability is about responsibility in every choice we make. We value tradition, knowledge and transparency, and we see our suppliers not simply as producers, but as long-term partners.
We use sustainably sourced cashmere from a natural fibre yarn supplier recognised for its commitment to quality, innovation and responsible practices-a trusted partner working with the Sustainable Fibre Alliance and The Good Cashmere Standard.
Our fibres come from cashmere goats raised in Inner Mongolia, a region known for its fine cashmere. After being gently combed, the raw fibres are carefully sorted, washed, dyed and spun into the yarn used in our garments.
Each batch is tested for softness, strength and durability. Our yarns are certified to OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 and tested for harmful substances.
For Mawei, sustainability starts with durability and long-term use. We develop garments with close attention to material, construction and finishing. Garments and accessories from current and previous seasons are designed to work naturally together, supporting a wardrobe that can be built and worn over time.
Our signature cashmere fabric reflects this approach. It is developed to improve shape retention and durability for regular wear, while preserving the softness of cashmere. The construction also supports practical material recovery and recycling.
